Weekend Homework
Last week for weekend homework I asked you to sit down with the people you love and talk about firsts from your lives. If you tried it out, I hope it went well for you.
This week I’d like you to do something…a little romantic. Okay, a lot romantic.
Write a love letter.
Yes, I know, writing a love letter can seem awkward sometimes and a bit weird, but truly, it doesn’t have to be. And neither does it have to be a dozen pages long in your best handwriting. Type it, write it, three words, three pages… It’s all up to you, truly.
Just to show it can be done – for those of you who are a little nervous at the prospect – here is a letter from me to my husband. (Not an old one. Brand new.)
Dear B,
I love you. I know I say it a lot otherwise, but I can’t help myself. I’ve never loved anyone like I love you, and I want to make sure you know that.
We’ve been through a lot in our relationship, that’s for sure, but I know we’ve come out stronger and better for all our experiences. We’ll have our ups and downs in the future as well, but I know we’ll make it. And someday we’ll have the house we’ve been dreaming of as well as children to grow up in it.
Never forget how much I love you. No matter what, I’m always here for you in any and every way I can be. You know you can name anything you want or need and I will try my hardest to get it for you.
You will always be in my heart.
Love always,
Your twin flame
