Love letters and poems (vol 5)
The sun rises—
Against the backdrop of our lives
Burnt orange
against the blue gray dawn
And we shall discover—
The earth warms—
And our passion burns as brightly
Fiery red
Against the cool, blue sky
And we shall feel–
Life begins and ends that day–
And ours refreshed anew
Life-giving green
Against the new white of love
And we shall love—
The moon soothes—
And our love embraces with its glow
Subtle silver
Against the dark hue of the evening
And we shall—
We shall–
Discover more fully,
Feel more completely,
Love more passionately,
Than we ever dreamed…
love letters, love poem, relationship, love, intimacy

Had I more time, I might try to add to this work of yours. Not that it needs it, only that I gain creative energy out of the effort. You’re poetry is often so much more, ummmm, poetic than mine, which is often too introverted for the enjoyment of anyone else.

You claim blame the “poetics” of anything I write to being the daughter of two English teachers…cadance, rhythm, structure all found their place. And despite reading writing that broke such rules, sometimes it still sticks.
Would love to see your additions. Or, publish them here for next week’s volume on your behalf…

Someday, perhaps, when I have time to do your works justice, I might offer my addendums. Right now I’ll just enjoy what you write.

I really like your use of colours in this one. Here is one of my ‘love’ ones…
Forever
two souls
the words within a rhyme
a perfect match
two hearts intertwined
two lovers
holding on with all their might
destiny
a future always bright
two minds
thoughts uniting as if one
two minds
thoughts colliding as if one
one future
a perfect sunset on the sea
one ending
forever you and me
