Looking for moments to cherish
Can you imagine how many treasured moments you waste in a day? How many moments could you instead spend nurturing, or even just mindfully participating in one of the long relationships in your life?
If you thought of each special person in your life right now—could you honestly say you have cherished every instant and made enough memories for a lifetime? Or would you look back longingly? Would you wish you were not just there, but present in the lives of those you loved?
Would you wish that you had put work away and gone outside to play soccer with your budding Beckham?
Would you wish that you had joined your daughters in the “putting on of all the clean clothes, instead of putting them away?
Would you wish for just one more tea party?
Would you wish for just one more time to touch the brow of your love, to run your thumb along the crease of his crooked smile?
Would you wish that you had turned off the TV and turned on each other?
Holly wrote a beautiful poem about those moments, called “Dearest Friends. I encourage you to read it and think about it in your own life.
That’s all for now—I’m going to play peek-a-boo with my little Bub.
