A Brief Foray Into the Single Life
The time has come again for my husband to go down to Tasmania for work. This time he’ll be taking the Spirit of Tasmania (a ship that goes back and forth from Melbourne to Devonport) so at least he’ll get to have a new experience. (At least, I don’t believe he’s been on it before…)
I’m more comfortable with him being away this time than I was last time, that’s for sure. I still don’t like being separated from him, but we do what we must. I’d be by myself most of the time down there anyway, and when I do go, I’d like to visit more than Devonport. So, until the end of the week, I’m on my own.
Of course there will be emails and plenty of phone calls.
At least it leaves me with some ‘me’ time to read, work on my novel and maybe even get ahead on some of my regular work. You never know.
And now for some sappy love letter stuff. You can close your eyes if you need to. Hehe.
To my wonderful Mr. JM:
“Be safe and use your head. Travel like I’m always with you in the car, because we both know you drive more carefully with me with you. Indulge yourself a bit; have a steak and a Guinness. Remember that I understand that you’re busy; I know you can’t call sometimes. I’m happy if you call every night.
Above all, remember I love you and am eagerly awaiting your return.
Love always,
me”

By the way you wrote, I thought he was going to be gone months lol…then I read more and it says he’ll be back at the end of the week.

Hehehe. Sorry, I really couldn’t resist. Of course I love him and miss him, but it’s not as dramatic as I make it out to be.
Forgive me?

Nothing to forgive, it just made me laugh! In a good way. Just the way it played out while reading it, I was thinking poor JM her husband is going away on a ship for a long time and then I got to the part where he was coming home at the end of the week and I laughed.
I don’t like being separated from my hubby either for extended amounts of time.
Does your hubby enjoy that kind of expressive letter writing?

Excellent.
It is quite funny, if I do say so myself.
He’s quite about it, in the male way, but he does like my letters. Honestly, I think he’s still a bit gobsmacked that I love him so much.
